Fast Ferry Docking

Fast Ferry Docking

We are pleased to have contributed to this fast ferry vessel’s successful annual docking once more. We had plenty of time to find the necessary parts because the jobs were scheduled before docking. All participating teams began their portion of the scope as soon as the vessel was docked at the yard.

The removal and overhaul of the port and starboard fuel oil feed pumps was the responsibility of Godspeed Engineering. Our company was in charge of supplying the parts needed for the overhaul of the pumps; therefore, we had to locate a supplier abroad, identify the parts needed, and set up all the logistics so that the parts could be delivered to us prior to the docking. By doing this, our company has developed a steady number of international business partners that supply us with all of our customers’ needs for a wide range of equipment.

Electrical and mechanical isolations were in place to guarantee the safety of all personnel, and all safety measures had been taken and verified before the pumps were removed. All fluid spills had been cleaned up and contained after the pipe work was removed before everyone left the area. The overhaul was completed after the pumps were moved to our location. After overhaul, pumps had been reinstalled on the vessel, primed, and tested.
